Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about welcoming a heritage Maine Coon kitten into your home.

Reserving a Royal Maine Coon kitten begins with a short inquiry form or an email to info@royalmainecoonkittenshome.com. Once approved, a non-refundable deposit secures your place. We provide private viewing windows for families in order of deposit receipt, allowing you to select your kitten once they reach 6 weeks of age.

Each kitten leaves our home with a comprehensive heritage package including TICA registration papers, a 1-year genetic health guarantee, age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies + 2 FVRCP), microchipping, de-worming, a health certificate, FeLV/FIV and fecal parasite tests, a spayed/neutered certificate, a starter bag of premium food, and lifetime breeder support.

Yes — delivery to other states is available. We offer flight nanny services for nationwide delivery. Your kitten will travel in-cabin with a dedicated professional, never in cargo. We also welcome families to arrange pickup directly. Contact us at info@royalmainecoonkittenshome.com to discuss delivery options.

All our breeding adults undergo comprehensive DNA screening for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). We also perform annual cardiac exams by board-certified veterinary cardiologists. Each kitten receives a full veterinary examination, FeLV/FIV testing, and a fecal parasite test before going to their new home.

The Maine Coon's magnificent coat requires regular attention — we recommend a thorough comb-through 2–3 times weekly using a high-quality steel comb to prevent matting. They are also fond of water, so occasional baths help manage the dense undercoat during seasonal shedding. We provide a full grooming guide and are available for lifetime support after adoption.

Absolutely. Maine Coons are known as the "dogs of the cat world" for their exceptionally sociable and gentle nature. They are patient with children, tolerant with dogs, and generally welcoming of other cats. Our kittens are raised in a family environment with children and other animals, ensuring they are confident and well-adjusted for any household.

The $650 fee covers the full heritage package: veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, de-worming, health testing, registration paperwork, a starter food bag, the spayed/neutered certificate, and our 1-year genetic health guarantee. It also covers our lifetime breeder support commitment — we remain a resource for you for the entire life of your cat.
